Villa Monte Pisano is nestled below Monte Pisano on the southern outskirts of Lucca (4 miles away) . This historic 19th-century Lucchese villa is set within a magnificent estate of terraced olive groves, elegant Italian gardens and pine-covered hilltops. Ideally situated within walking distance of a restaurant and the local village is only 2 Km.
A charming walled garden provides a peaceful and relaxing setting for the swimming pool and summerhouse, which also includes a workout room. The interiors are uniquely styled and elegantly furnished, offering 12 frescoed bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, accommodating up to 24 guests.
Well suited to larger groups (1600 sqm), the villa features three living rooms, a study area, a billiard room, a grand banquet room and the shaded retreat of an arched loggia. These spaces offer ample opportunity to relax together or enjoy moments of privacy and quiet retreat.
The villa is historically significant, having been built as the summer residence of the Controni family, noble merchants who, in 1680, took over what is now Palazzo Pfanner in the centre of Lucca. In 1692, Carlo Controni welcomed Prince Frederick of Denmark and Norway as a guest during his Grand Tour of Italy.
Located within a vast country estate shared with three other villas, guests have access to a communal tennis court and can hire bicycles to explore the surrounding area. A range of premium services is available, including daily breakfast, freshly prepared meals and an on-site concierge who can arrange wine tastings, guided tours and local excursions.
